"My hair has always been my #1 asset. However, last week it came time to kiss the dry ends goodbye and say hello to a haircut that works in the New York City summer heat. I made an appointment with Antoine one day before going to the Tony awards, hoping that his positive Yelp reviews were true, and that he would work miracles on my hair too. I kid you not when I say that Antoine is a styling GOD. 

When I arrived at the Roy Teeluck Salon, I was greeted by the friendly receptionist, had my coat and bag checked, was offered my choice of many nice beverages, and within two minutes was met by the caring and delightful Antoine. He asked me what kind of haircut I was looking for, what I did not want, and then gave me a couple of options to choose from. From there I was taken to get a shampoo and a scalp massage, which was an amazing and welcome change from the salons who always try to rush these pamper steps. 

I found Antoine to be very precise yet efficient. My haircut took about an hour (cut plus blow-out and styling). Our conversation was great--he was interesting, worldly, and very funny. I very much appreciated his checking in during the haircut; for instance, he would ask if I wanted to go even shorter or if wanted more layers or if I wanted my cut to frame my face. It was nice to be able to have so much say in the process. 

It's been three days since my cut and I am receiving more compliments than ever before. I rarely spend more than $50 dollars on a cut, so it was a little expensive; however, it is the best haircut I've ever had and worth every penny (my cut without tip was $115).
